Job Title: Freelance Quality Assurance Officer

Location: Nationwide (travel across the UK required)

Contract Type: Freelance Fixed-term, 6 months (with potential extension for a further 6 months)

Salary: £1,000 per month

Additional Benefits:

  • Mileage reimbursed at the HMRC rate of 46p per mile up to 10,000 miles
  • Accommodation provided where travel distance requires overnight stay

BoxWise Foundation is a UK-based charity using the power of boxing to support young people in building confidence, discipline, and life skills. Through a structured, non-contact 10-week programme delivered by accredited England Boxing coaches, BoxWise creates a supportive environment for participants to grow and succeed. With delivery across over 40 venues in the UK, BoxWise is committed to making a lasting impact in communities.

Role Overview

BoxWise is seeking a highly organised and motivated Quality Assurance Officer to support the ongoing delivery of its programmes across the UK. This fixed-term role involves travelling to two venues per week to conduct quality assurance checks using the organisation’s established processes. The successful candidate will assess compliance against programme delivery outcomes and submit a detailed report following each visit. This role is pivotal in ensuring that each location maintains high standards and consistently delivers positive experiences for young people involved in the programme.

Key Responsibilities

  • Visit two BoxWise programme venues per week across the UK.
  • Use the existing quality assurance framework to assess programme delivery and ensure compliance with expected standards.
  • Observe sessions and evaluate coaching methods, participant engagement, and overall environment.
  • Identify areas for improvement and provide constructive feedback.
  • Write and submit a comprehensive quality assurance report following each visit.
  • Ensure venues comply with safeguarding policies, health and safety standards, and organisational protocols.
  • Collaborate with the BoxWise central team to discuss outcomes and inform further programme development.

Person Specification

Essential:

  • Proven experience in quality assurance, programme evaluation, or a similar role.
  • Strong understanding of programme delivery within the charity or training sector.
  • A recognised Health and Safety qualification such as IOSH Managing Safely or a NEBOSH Health and safety Certificate.
  • Excellent analytical and attention-to-detail skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Willingness to travel extensively across the UK and work flexible hours.
  • A full, valid UK driving license.
  • Be able to undergo a DBS check.
  • Due to the nature of our work, you must be able to work evenings.

Desirable:

  • Experience working in a sports, education, or youth engagement setting.
  • Familiarity with boxing or sports coaching environments.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding practices and statutory regulations relating to youth work.

Contract Details

This is a six-month fixed-term contract. Subject to performance and organisational needs, there may be an opportunity to extend the role for a further six months. Mileage and accommodation costs will be reimbursed according to the HMRC and BoxWise policies.
